Penny stood with her hands raised, frozen in fear and completely surrounded by armed soldiers ready to take her into their custody. A simple misunderstanding might have cost her her freedom.
“Johnson! Arrest this young woman.” One of the soldiers demanded of his squadron.
“Sir, yes sir!” The soldier complied as he reached into a pouch on his belt to reveal a pair of steel handcuffs. Penny’s eyes grew wider as she looked around the hallway for a possibility of escape, but with the soldiers’ assault rifles pointed in her direction and a pair of handcuffs about to grip her wrists in their cold steel, her chances of getting out of this disconcerting situation plummeted drastically.
