"Won't Be Home For Christmas"
The crisp winter air in late December
Would bring her an image she’d always remember
White blizzard snow fell gracefully forth
She followed the star that directed her North
She trailed through the woods in search of her home
Wandering aimless, cast out and alone
She dreamt of retreat to her warm, cozy bed
The privilege of freedom encompassed her head
The shackles that gripped her appendages tight
Kept her restrained on this cold winter’s night
Lost and alone while trembling in fear
Ensuring no Christmas would greet her this year
