I hope you are all enjoying your October festivities. I’m sure I’ve said it before, but fall is probably my favorite time of year. Such a great vibe in the area of America that I live in with leaves changing and the decorations. People seemed to have gotten a little more festive this year around my neck of the woods. Maybe being cooped up from Covid caused everyone to want to celebrate more. Who knows?
Anyway, the main reason that I wanted to post an update was to let everyone know that I’ll be going on a bit of a last minute business trip in just a couple of days. Starting this coming Monday, October 25th, I’ll be gone from my home for 4 weeks to take part in a group outing to a city that my career services very heavily. Don’t worry though, because I will be bringing my ‘Martyr laptop’ with me so that I can continue to post to the site (my Martyr laptop is basically just a laptop that I use for internet purposes and that doesn’t have the capability to create and render new images). Thankfully, I have several images stored up and ready to be posted, but the biggest problem I see is that I will not be able to create new content for nearly a month. I see this both as a good thing and a bad thing. Bad, because I will lose a lot of time that I generally spend creating new images, but good because I feel like I will have a ‘refreshed’ and ‘rejuvenated’ appreciation and outlook toward creating. Not that I don’t enjoy it, but sometimes it’s good to take some time away and then let the ol’ creative juices start to flow again. I think it brings new perspectives and a heightened sense of excitement to the creative process.
Another small concern is that I might be a little indisposed to take care of some of the social and backend aspects of running the website. What I mean by that is replying to messages and emails or if any weird glitches come up for some reason. I will certainly take time to post before going to sleep, but since I am with a group of coworkers, I anticipate we will be going to dinner and meetings and things like that while up there, so that might take up some of my time. I just ask for a little patience in waiting for me to get back to you should anything come up. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Who knows, after a couple of weeks of being up there, my coworkers and I might all get on each other’s nerves. Lord knows we already spend too much time together at work, lol. So if that’s the case, I’ll probably just end up sitting in my hotel room writing new stories and ideas for images on my laptop.
After I come back, I’ll actually be on vacation from work for the week of Thanksgiving here in the United States. It really couldn’t come at a better time because I anticipate that I’ll want some time away from the stresses of my job and it’ll just be nice to get home and not have to worry about work. Plus, it’ll give me time to catch up on some of the potential ideas that I came up with while on my trip.
So I’m the meantime, I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween and a good few weeks ahead.
